About HarAlley HarAlley is 51ft Sealium (Aluminium) hulled catamaran. Based off a Tim Mumby design, she has beautiful sleek lines, and is a very fast cruising catamaran.
She was built to sail-away stage, hulls engines and rigging in Langkawi, Malaysia and then sailed to Phuket Thailand to undergo a custom interior fitout. After a start in January 2006, we were re-launched August 2007 to complete final electronics.
The fitout in Phuket was ably led by Roger Diggelmann, from Composite Yachts, and a fine crew of Thai carpenters and painters. Starting from scratch with only an empty hull to work with we managed to create a truly beautiful vessel. The entire interior was custom designed and built, from the feature timber throughout, all the doors and cupboards and even the three fridge/freezers. Considering we were on a patch of land only a few meters from Chalong bay with less than ideal conditions to work, low power or none at all, same with the water….improvising became a work of art…..and patience….the greatest lesson I learnt on this adventure. Pursuing a lifelong dream takes all sorts of things to fall into place, not the least of which is belief…and this is tested to the limit!! The end product of our labours is a beautifully finished, gorgeous looking and fast sailing catamaran. She's huge and comfortable and we look forward to entertaining you one day soon.
The owner would like to thank the following: Alastair Young, my friend and partner. Thank you for believing in my dream. Roger Diggelmann: Composite Yacht Constructions. Thank you for making this cat look so beautiful. Hard work and trying times but so worth it. Ti- Ti Marine, fairing and painting. Lu Pi- Ti's Dad…inspirational…him no English, me no Thai but we still got it done! Ti's crew Josh, saved my sanity. Robert, hung in there too, owner of "Ruby" Ian Carter: electrics The Saturday afternoon crew….we managed to solve all the worlds' problems! Sirikorn Sang-in (Toi), my partner, without whom finishing would have taken so much longer. Thank you for your patience and teaching of the Buddha way. And also for helping to sort out the business end of this operation. Last and not least my kids, Harley and Ally after whom "HarAlley" is named. They only know one thing…unconditional love.( where did we adults lose that?) I love you very much. View pictures of the vessel launch.
